Lim Peh’s is saying goodbye to Verity Lane and you have one month to stuff your face, Canberra

It’s no secret we’re fans of Lim Peh’s at Verity Lane Market.
First opening as Lim Peh’s Wan Tan Mee at Verity Lane Market in April 2023, this pop-up hawker-style noodle shop quickly earned a loyal following, their hearty bowls of classic Singaporean fare beloved by all.
I personally ate at least 10 bowls of their signature Wan Tan Mee over the last year – it even made our Best Dishes of 2023. Now, Lim Peh’s has announced May will be their last month at Verity Lane Market and yes, we are devastated.

“As you may know, Lim Peh’s has been a labour of love—a test kitchen where we could showcase our passion for Singaporean cuisine and introduce it to the Canberra market,” wrote the owners yesterday.
“Over the months, we’ve had the pleasure of serving up our tasty hawker centre noodles, monthly specials, customer deals, all while maintaining our commitment to accessibility and affordability.”
“While the decision for us to close Lim Peh’s at the end of this month has been an anticipated one, it’s nonetheless a moment of reflection and gratitude for us. We’ve achieved what we set out to accomplish at Verity Lane Market and have been overwhelmed by the support and recognition from our patrons and the local community.”
“As we prepare to bid farewell, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to you for following our journey and supporting us along the way. Your enthusiasm and engagement of our business has played an instrumental role in making Lim Peh’s a success, and for that, we are truly grateful.”
While there’s still plenty of time to stuff your face with Wan Tan Mee (as well as their other delish options including this week’s Chilli Week special) before they close on Saturday 1 June, there’s also hope that this won’t be the last time we see the Lim Peh’s team.
“While this chapter may be closing, rest assured, it’s not the end of Lim Peh’s. We have exciting plans for the future, but for now, we’re keeping them under wraps until we officially bid adieu to VLM.”
Naturally, we’ll be first with the news when it comes, so watch this space.
