You can now find a Japanese-style nighttime dessert café in Kippax

Your after dinner sweet treat just got a whole lot better. Bunny Beans in Kippax has opened a Japanese-style nighttime dessert café, and it’s the thing sweet dreams are made of.

Open Thursday to Saturday nights from 5 pm until 11 pm, indulge in Shibuya Toast, bingsu, cheesecake, and more. Crème brûlée burnt cheesecake, anyone?

Shaw Estate Murrumbateman opens this weekend

And yes, you should be excited. Set against the backdrop of Shaw Estate, the Mediterranean-inspired restaurant will be bringing a refined yet relaxed dining experience to Murrumbateman.

Offering a menu deeply rooted in Italian tradition while celebrating local and seasonal ingredients, book your table now to try the menu (best enjoyed alongside the carefully curated wine list, of course).

This iconic Canberra venue has gotten its groove back

Parlour Wine Room is embarking on a delicious new chapter, with hatted chef Kevin Steadman breathing fresh life into NewActon’s beloved and historic Canberra venue.  Entering 2025 with renewed culinary vigour, the revamped menu celebrates Modern Australian cuisine with classic techniques and global influences. Think: quintessentially French chicken liver pate or a market fish swimming in Mediterranean flavours.

The team behind Pilot and Such and Such have a new project – and it’s in Ainslie

Keep an eye out for this seasonal pop-up, cause you’ll want to be quick to book a seat. From the talented team behind the award-winning Pilot and Such and Such comes a cute little cocktail bar.

Transforming the outdoor space of Pilot into a casual place for a drink and snack, the menu at That Other Place will be small but mighty – with options like Appellation oysters with tabasco, radish cakes and XO, or fried olives with feta, chilli and lemon on the food menu and cocktails including the Canberra Colada and the Not Pimm’s Cup.

Open for drinks from 5 pm and food from 6 pm, you can drop in from Wednesday to Saturday.

You can eat free mousse au chocolat for a whole month

The only catch? You have to order even more food at Louis to get it. Until 17 April, you can enjoy a complimentary Louis mousse au chocolat with Chantilly cream and chocolate shards with every à la carte meal. Available for both lunch and dinner, this could be autumn’s sweetest deal.

Andre’s Osteria brings Mediterranean flair to Weston Creek

Highly anticipated Mediterranean dining room and wine bar, Andre’s Osteria has opened its doors in Weston Creek – and it’s a must-try.

Occupying the space formerly home to the iconic My’s Vietnamese, it’s the brainchild of hospitality young gun Andre Wilks. Focused on quality, seasonal, and locally sourced produce, from handmade pasta to fresh Oysters, shucked daily in house, and Andre’s Mum’s Chocolate Mousse (a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Pierrelaine), it’s one of the most delicious openings of 2025.

Zaiqah has just opened in Dickson with a menu of authentic Pakistani dishes and we’re already drooling.

Canteen takes over TERRA and they had us at “charcoal grilled Tsukune”

It’s the collab that dreams are made of – Canteen by Ramen Daddy is taking over TERRA for one day only on Saturday 12 April. Bringing back their Saturday Substitute events, Chef Eddy Tsai will be at the grill to serve up charcoal grilled Tsukune, woodfired Porchetta Mazesoba, and more. Drooling yet? You better book your seat fast!

Road trip, anyone? Clementine Restaurant is back!

Well, kind of. To be more accurate, Chef Adam Bantock is back with a series of Clementine-inspired dinners at the new Clementine Bakery and Two Before Ten site in Murrumbateman’s Fairley Square.
