Friday Night Drinks at Old Parliament House are back and it kicks off this week!
Posted on
Gen X and millennials, it’s time to get nostalgic. That’s right—Friday nights at OPH are back! And Gen Z? Allow us to introduce you to your fave new tradition.
If you’re of a certain vintage, you may remember the good old days of heading to the House of Reps Courtyard at Old Parliament House for after-work drinks. Well, they’re back! Or at least they soon will be.
Originating back in the early 2000s, OPH was the place to be on Friday. Thousands of punters would head to the courtyard to enjoy cheap beers, cocktails, delish food, and good tunes.
And while the Canberra bar scene has changed over the last couple of decades, the recipe for a good night out has not, and the revived OPH drinks will reprise all the elements that made the original such a success, including a selection of hot and cold food and a partnership with Capital Brewing Co., who will be tapping their best (along with serving a selection of wines).
Kicking off at 4 pm on Friday 20 September (that’s this Friday FYI) the relaunch will take place monthly, helping you start your weekend right with a fun night out with workmates, friends, and good vibes.
You’ll know where to find us.
