Spilling the beans on the best coffee and chocolate in Canberra

Canberra’s coffee scene has exploded in recent years with new cafes and roasting houses popping up around the city faster than you can say ‘single origin espresso’. Our well-publicised preference for good quality coffee – and the recent crowning of the world’s best barista coming from this very city — proves the way to the heart of a Canberran is definitely through our morning cup of joe.

With so many blends on offer it has been almost impossible to try them all – until now.

The Indulge Coffee and Chocolate Expo on 11 July will bring local coffee and chocolate providers together in a one-day sensory overload.

Expo creator Stephanie Hodge, a local Canberra event specialist, says the specific combination of both coffee and chocolate at the one event is a first for Canberra and will be a great addition to Canberra’s winter calendar of events.

“What better way to spend a chilly Canberra winter’s day than warming up with coffee and chocolate? The combination of the two is a perfect match and it made sense to combine them in the one event,” she says.

“While there will be a dominant focus on local suppliers we have also reached out to other Australian suppliers in order to offer a wide variety of coffee and chocolate products for the public to sample at the expo and to enjoy at home. I wanted to create an event that was unique, indulgent and educational — Indulge Expo encapsulates this perfectly.”

With enticing products from names such as Captain Chocolate ,RiciCoco’s Chocolate Tea, Morish Morsels and the unique ‘Decafe’ Homewares Range by designer Raul Lauri (light fittings and homewares made out of recycled coffee grinds, truly!) among the stall holders, the Expo will tempt even the most discerning coffee and chocolate connoisseurs.

Indulge Coffee & Chocolate will cater for all your senses with live demos and music to keep you entertained as you nibble and sip your way around the Old Bus Depot in Kingston.

July cannot come soon enough for this coffee and chocolate addict…
