Capture the Love: Enter Mum into the Candid Canberra Photography Competition for this Mother’s Day

With Mother’s Day fast approaching, we have a unique way for you to make mum feel special this year.
What better way to celebrate the extraordinary women who have shaped our lives with love, sacrifice, and unwavering support than to enter a cherished photo of your special bond into the Perinatal Wellbeing Centre’s Candid Canberra Photography Competition?
Each entry into the competition provides a ticket to see your special photo on display at the Candid Canberra Photography Exhibition held at the Shine Dome on the grounds of the Australian National University on Mother’s Day Weekend, Saturday 11 May.
During the exhibition, you will have the opportunity to buy photographs that are for sale, win some great raffle prizes, and vote in the People’s Choice Awards.
In addition to the opportunity to celebrate your special bond with Mum by taking her to the exhibition event, participants will also get to keep or gift their exhibition photo.
Perinatal Wellbeing Centre CEO, Dr Yvonne Luxford, is inviting individuals of all skill levels to submit their most heartfelt and captivating images capturing the essence of motherhood.
“We invite individuals to showcase the beauty, warmth, and depth of this relationship through the lens of their cameras or smartphones. We encourage entries that are candid, evoke emotion, tell a story, and celebrate the unconditional love between a mother, parent or caretaker, and their child.”
“Research indicates that 1 in 5 mums and 1 in 10 partners/fathers experience mental health challenges during this time meaning more than 1,000 families every year in Canberra and surrounds would benefit from our help.”
“‘Candid Canberra is a great opportunity for the Canberra community to support expectant and new mothers and come along and see their special photos hung in a professional exhibition at the same time.”

The competition is open to the Canberra community and boasts a range of different categories with three cash prizes up for grabs– 1st place $500, 2nd $250, and 3rd $100. The small entry fee of $30 will be donated to help women experiencing perinatal mental health challenges.
