While Canberra’s university campuses are some of our city’s proudest precincts—full of vibrant student life…
What do you get when you combine delicious food with two very philanthropic radio hosts? A very punny competition determined to help you decide what’s for dinner!
Bringing Life is a Fryway to Canberra’s airwaves, Mix106.3’s drive team Wilko and Courts officially launched the competition to help Canberra’s hospitality industry and to help answer the age-old question: “Hey mum, what are we going to have for dinner tonight?”
Taking a little bit of stress out of their listeners’ day by providing dinner ready to go on the table from the best of Canberra’s restaurants, the radio hosts wanted to give people a friendly reminder of some of the fantastic eateries located around the region.
“Canberra is obviously known for its stunning winter weather but if you haven’t realised, we also have some of the best food!” says Wilko and Courts. “And who wants to decide dinner each night? Let us do that for you!”
With the ACT now in lockdown, the duo is hoping that Life is a Fryway will create discussion that will translate into increased sales and attention for the hospitality industry.
Many of the region’s best eateries are already on board, with meals from Zambreros, Akiba, Milky Lane, Siren Bar, Grease Monkey and Fricken Fried Chicken already up for grabs. The team are also looking for other local restaurants who want to help out.
All you have to do is grab some stretchy pants, tune into mix106.3 from 3–6 pm on weekdays and listen for the cue to call.
Winners will then have dinner delivered to their doorstep COVID-safe and contact-free that evening.

“We really wanted to feature a different food destination each night and have our listeners and their families sample them,” says Wilko and Courts.
“It’s great for each business because it might be close to you and you might have never known, this is perfect to get the word out about what is on offer in your suburb…I’m jealous we can’t enter.”
Ending early September, get ready to jump on the highway (or as Wilko and Courts say, fryway) to and win a free dinner—delivered!
