The iconic Canberra Paws Calendar Contest is back for 2026 – and it’s raising $15,000 for pets in crisis

Calling all Canberra dog owners, the Canberra Paws Calendar Contest is back and better than ever. Think your dog has what it takes?

Local pet photographer Ina Jalil of Ina J Photography is bringing back the Canberra Paws Calendar Contest for 2026 and Canberra pooch parents are encouraged to submit their dog’s best photo for a chance to be featured in the next calendar. And it’s all for a good cause.
The paw-pose of this contest is to raise money for ACT Pet Crisis Support, a charity that ensures that pets in need owned by disadvantaged, low-income pet owners in the ACT and local region have access to veterinary care.
Since 2020, Ina has raised over $56,437 and helped many furry friends receive the care they need. This year, she aims to raise $15,000.
ACT Pet Crisis Support relies solely on community donations to run their Tiny Vet Clinic and as a lifeline for struggling pet owners across Canberra, Ina says that every entry makes a difference.
“We all love our dogs like family, but not every pet is lucky enough to have a stable home or access to vet care when it’s needed most,” she explains.
“This contest is about using that love to do something powerful – to help other dogs stay with their families during the hardest times of their lives.”
Now, here’s how to enter:
Submit your favourite photo of your dog and round up all of your closest friends and family to vote! The entry fee is $5 and each vote costs $1.
The top 13 dogs with the most votes will be professionally photographed by Ina J Photography and featured in the 2026 calendar!
Need some more motivation? The first-place prize also includes a cover photo, $250 artwork credit, an 8×12” fine art print and a social media digital file. Second to 13th place will also receive a pet of the month feature and a social media digital file.
But wait, that’s not all… There are also weekly mini-prize contests sponsored by local businesses such as Pups 4 Fun, Cognitive Canine Dog Training, The Organic Dog Co, and more. You can also reserve a calendar grid space for your dog for just $10!
