Eight reasons to be UNVEILED
Posted on
Even if you’re not getting married, you’ll want to get along to UNVEILED: The Event for the ultimate in event inspiration and information.
With the support of some of Canberra’s best wedding suppliers, we’re creating a 4D experience that will transport you inside a fully-styled wedding for the night, so you can see, touch, feel and yes, taste what the experience will be like.
The event has been built around five themes—Garden, Modern Luxe, Rustic, Dramatic and Classic Romance—and will explore them in everything from table styling to fashion and beauty to food.
Here are eight reasons you won’t want to miss UNVEILED (even if you’re not getting married!)
The chance to step inside your dream wedding, literally
Do you find it hard to pull all the elements together in your head? Will the cake really go with the table runner? Will the invitations reflect the theme of the reception?
Hosted in one of Canberra’s most pristine venues, the award-winning National Portrait Gallery, UNVEILED will show you exactly how your celebration can come together inside our five bespoke Wedding Atmospheres.
Our Atmospheres will be themed installations where brides and grooms-to-be can literally step inside their dream wedding with room styling, cakes, florals, invitations and more, all in the one place.
Have we asked one company to pull them all together? No.
We’ve asked 20 local suppliers from florists to illustrators, stylists and cake makers to collaborate on five individual themes, just like they would at your wedding.
Behind each Atmosphere is a team of dedicated, professional, local businesses, just like in real life. Whether your dream wedding is Dramatic, Rustic, Modern Luxe, Classic Romance or Garden we’ll provide the inspiration and inspiration you need to make it a reality.
Amazing food and wine
Forget dull menu tastings.
Want to taste some delicious local options? Boutique caterers Mr Papa, Woodbrook and Pialligo Estate will be dishing out some samples of their wares, while The Pop Inn will be serving a drop or two of Canberra’s most delicious local wines. There may also be a few other little surprises.
And then…
Starting at 7pm, UNVEILED’s three-course Wedding Feast will include canapés on arrival and petit fours for ‘afters’ and has been curated by Broadbean Catering to showcase the event’s five themes. It’s a fantastic way to get a sense of the kind of menu you’re wanting to serve your own guests. Here’s what’s on offer.
Canapés – Garden
Crisp polenta & fresh shaved local truffle
Crushed broadbeans & mint on sesame croute
Zucchini & halloumi fritter, basil aioli
Entrée – Modern Luxe
Cured Ocean Trout, horseradish, roasted rhubarb, Ocean Trout pearls
Main – Rustic

Dessert – Dramatic

Your meal will be paired with a curated selection of local wines from Three Lads Wine, The Vintner’s Daughter, Four Winds Vineyard, Lerida Estate and Contentious Character.
Not getting married? You get to enjoy all the best bits of a wedding (friends, food and live entertainment) without the speeches and bouquet toss!
Tickets are $99 and limited to just 50 people (they’re half gone already!) and can be purchased from Eventbrite.
Beauty Bar
Have you ever heard two sweeter sounding words?
We’re bringing the indulgence and glamour of wedding beauty to UNVEILED with a Beauty Bar with makeup advice and mini-trials by Jacqui Scott Makeup and CMA Training.
You’ll be able to test drive some beautiful liquid matte lipsticks from Harlotte which are guaranteed smear-resistant, even when things get a little intense (perfect for that most important kiss) and a gorgeous luminous golden cheek highlighter which delivers a gorgeous glow when applied to the upper cheekbones (not that you’ll need extra glow on your big day). There will also be mini manis and hand massages on offer, and you’ll have the chance to ask all those beauty questions you’ve been dying to ask.
Being able to connect on a personal level with your vendors
The crème de la crème of Canberra’s wedding industry will be on show at UNVEILED.
We’re talking everyone from stylists to cake creators, bridal couturiers to photographers, boutique caterers to stationers. Have a chat, pick up their wares, browse their past work.

Entertainment
Entertainment is critical in setting the mood for your wedding.
We’re bringing some brilliant local talent to the stage throughout the day for your listening pleasure – and we hope you’ll find the perfect fit for your ceremony or reception.
Mickey Sulit
Mickey Sulit is an 19-year-old solo singer-songwriter from Canberra, Australia. Her genre is a mixture of Indie-pop and a hint of jazz. Mickey has featured on Hit104.7 and has supported Amber Nichols as well as Mark Bautista’s Australian tour.
Simon Anau
Simon Anau is a Canberra-based soul, funk and RnB musician, performs acoustic covers and originals. He’s also the lead singer of the band ‘Small Town Funk’. After migrating from New Zealand at a young age, Simon combined his love of old school Motown music with RnB and today’s popular hits to create funky, soulful tunes.
Chicago Charles
Chicago Charles is the complete wedding and event package. Combining his extensive experience providing live acoustic music, DJing, audio visual and lighting he can vary his offerings from playing live acoustic music during your ceremony, learning a special song for your walk down the aisle, playing background music to sing-a-longs and dancing music at your reception or DJ’ing your choice of music.
Michael Liu
Classically trained but never contained, Mr. Michael (aka Michael Liu) has made quite a mark playing his violin wherever he finds a crowd. Defecting from tradition, Michael insists that the violin is so much more than just an orchestral element but a musical weapon capable of breaking any genre barrier. Rock, classical, hip hop, house, jazz, funk, soul, the list goes on.
Tips and tricks from experts. Learn it on the day.
