In need of retail therapy? Get off the beaten path in the BMW X5 XDRIVE30D and into some of Canberra’s best boutiques.
One of the great things about Canberra is that it’s no more than half an hour anywhere. We’ve teamed up with Rolfe Classic BMW to present a series of articles which encourage you to explore.
Let’s face it—it’s nigh on impossible to shop the whole city in just one day. But if you’re strategic with your time, you can explore three of our main shopping precincts and still have time for sustenance in between! Here’s how to spend a stylish day exploring some great local fashion and homewares.
The great news is that the powerful and imposing nature of the BMW X5 isn’t only for adventurous road trips. The aerodynamic design of the luxury SUV allows for efficient and dynamic driving, whilst catching the eye of onlookers as you trip through town. With BMW Connected Drive you can plan your day ahead of time so there’s no chance of missing out or getting lost, and of course, there’s more than enough room in the boot to handle the wares of most enthusiastic of shoppers.
MANUKA & KINGSTON
You’ll find a wide selection of funky boutiques in Manuka’s fashion precinct. Take a walk through Manuka Arcade and you’ll stumble across Mania Shoes and its gorgeous collection of special occasion shoes and headwear.
Other stores worthy of a browse include Things of Desire, Escala, Lusso and Momento Dezigns. You’ll find a selection of high quality designer apparel, accessories and shoes within these boutiques. Cable is the place to go if you’re after swoon-worthy knits, and high-street staple Witchery always has something you’ll want.
Department of The Exterior is truly a hidden gem, tucked away in the Manuka Court arcade; while Phillip Paris stocks beautiful European items. On the lawns, you’ll find Wolfie—a fashion forward boutique for little people (you’ll wish the pieces came in adult size!)
If you’ve got time, hop in the car and pop on over to nearby Kingston to Honeysuckle & Lace, where you’ll find interesting labels from all over the world.

Want to get your high-street fashion fix of Australian and international labels? Canberra Centre is a must-visit—especially the brand new beauty precinct which you could easily spend a whole day luxuriating in.
But if you’re after home-grown boutiques, head to Mussen in Garema Place first – here you’ll find labels such as Wish, Cooper St, Staple the Label, and Bebe Sydney. For truly local fashion, you can’t go past Trove—a collective of local artists and designers boasting fashion, jewellery, millinery, homewares, kid’s clothing, artworks, and more.
Landspeed Records’ new and vintage fashion, as well as a wide range of CDs, records and band merch is a delight to explore, as are the preloved finds at The Green Shed Café.
