Canberra Centre to reveal what we’ll be wearing this Autumn/Winter

Posted on

Key trends for the upcoming autumn and winter season will be on display this weekend at a series of stylish fashion events showcasing the latest looks from leading Australian and international brands available at  Canberra Centre.

The events will feature five key trends worn by Canberra Centre’s mysterious Guardians of Style, whose pop up fashion shows recently surprised and delighted curious onlookers all over Canberra.

Stylist Colleen Cuneo will present the trends outside Forever New, Level 1 Canberra Centre from today – Friday 28 March – at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 5pm 6pm and 7pm. The shows will run at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm on Saturday 29 March and Sunday 30 March.

The trends that will be on display include:

Modern Lady

A feminine silhouette never really goes out of style and this season it’s all about the mid-century woman. Think: full-skirts paired with a fitted knit or leather jacket. Pointed-toe heels add the final touch.

Oceanic

Cobalt, navy and teal were all over the autumn/winter ’14 runways. Blue is universally flattering, so don’t be afraid to mix your tones. If you’re less adventurous, blue pairs beautifully with black or grey.

Metallics

A red-carpet favourite for Naomi Watts and Cate Blanchett, you’ll find plenty of sparkly gold, silver and bronze pieces in stores, too. Metallic accessories are an easy way to work the trend.

Leather Luxe

Leather, both faux and real, has been a mainstay for the last few seasons. Leather pants, skirts, dresses and jackets are versatile wardrobe pieces that add instant edge to any outfit.

Print Clash

Stripes with florals, dots with checks? Anything goes with this trend, so don’t be afraid to experiment. If you’re not comfortable going all out, then try small and large versions of the same print.
