Seven Christmas-themed markets to jingle your bells

Posted on

There’s always plenty to do as Christmas approaches and the local markets never disappoint.

Full of delicious food, handmade goodies and, of course, fabulous Christmas-themed items, it’s hard to avoid the festive spirit as you shop for the perfect gift. Here are seven Christmas themed markets that are sure to jingle your bells this December.

Haig Park Christmas Village Markets

Looking to get all your Christmas shopping done in one location? The Christmas Village Markets at Haig Park has everything you need. Explore the stalls, enjoy some live music and meet Santa before taking a picnic in the park! There’s even plenty for the kids to do while you check your list twice. Sunday 12 and 19 December | Haig Park, Braddon |

Capital Region Farmers Market

Enjoy the Christmas season at the Capital Region Farmers Market! With over 100 stallholders each week there are endless options when it comes to freshly picked, grown and hand-crafted produce. Santa’s Shaped Christmas Trees will be available on 27 November and now is the perfect time to get your pre-orders in for ham, chicken and seafood.

Saturday 7 am-11.30 am | Exhibition Park in Canberra, Old Well Station Rd, Mitchell |

Brindabella Business Park Christmas Markets

Taking place on Thursday 9 December, head to Brindabella Business Park to explore the diverse range of Canberra businesses and pick up a gift for a loved one!

Thursday 9 December, 10.30 am – 2.30 pm | Town Square Oval, Brindabella Business Park |

A special mention…

POP Canberra isn’t a market per se (in fact, it’s a very cute boutique on Lonsdale Street), however, it’s your one-stop-shop for gorgeous Christmas gifts created by Canberra makers. Can’t find your favourite Canberra brands in the markets? POP Canberra is waiting…

Canberra Fashion Food and Wine Market

Treat yourself to a visit to the Canberra Fashion Food and Wine Market. Discover new and pre-loved fashion, including designer labels and a wide range of styles and be sure to check out the new food and wine component to the markets. You never know, you may just find the perfect gift.

Sunday 19 December | Printers Way, Kingston |

Southside Farmers Markets

This village market is located at Canberra College, making it the perfect place to duck in to grab what you need (and maybe a few things you don’t). This year the team from Ziggy’s Christmas Trees will be at the market, so there’s no need to drive across town for the perfect tree.

Sunday 8 am -11.30 am | 2 Launceston St, Phillip |

Hall Village Christmas Fair

With a special visit from Santa, over 30 artisan vendors and fresh cut Christmas trees for sale on site, there’s plenty to see at the Hall Village Christmas Fair. Saturday 11 December, 10 am-3 pm | Palmer St, Hall |

The Cottage Markets

Explore handmade arts and crafts, plants, books, clothing and some very special Christmas stall holders at The Cottage Markets. Sunday 12 December, 9am-1pm | 1 Isabella Dr, Gilmore |
