Zara to close its Canberra Centre doors…but a flagship Mecca store is moving in

Posted on

When ZARA opened its doors in Canberra Centre on 14 March 2013, it was to much fanfare – the Spanish fashion retailer having already cemented a reputation for on-trend, affordable clothing and accessories.

Now, 12 years on (almost to the day), ZARA is saying goodbye to Canberra – making way for a new Mecca flagship store. Cue the screams of beauty lovers everywhere.

Set to be one of the largest Mecca stores in Australia, you better start your engines, because along with additional beauty services, there will also be private beauty rooms and additional brands that can’t currently be found in the Canberra stores.

Is anyone else hyperventilating? Personally, we’re hoping to see private piercing rooms, facial services, and the MECCA Beauty Lab…but we’ll just have to wait and see what they have planned.

Set to open later this year, the announcement coincides with reconfiguration and upgrade works that have commenced in Canberra Centre in January to enhance the shopping experience for both customers and retail partners.

Existing hoarding has already notified shoppers of a relocation of Green House Coffee as well as the opening of a Chanel Fragrance and Beauty store.

With no opening date set, this is one glow-up at the Canberra Centre we can’t wait to see.

You better start saving, because if you’re anything like us, you’ll be spending some big bucks.
