The Pop Inn: making celebrations pop

Take your wedding down the path less travelled with The Pop Inn

If your ideal wedding destination is something a little different than the norm, The Pop Inn by Wine Bar Co might just what you need.

You might love a particular field on a rural property or maybe just a quiet spot by the lake where you had your first date. But how could catering work there? And what about liquor licenses?

If it all seems a bit too hard and you’re starting to think that you’ll have to find an alternative location —don’t. As Kimberley Ohayon, founder of The Pop Inn, explains, there are a range of flexible options that could make your dream location a reality.

“A wedding should be a true expression of the personalities of the couple,” says Kimberley— even if that true expression happens to take place in a park or up a mountain.

“The Pop Inn shines when in an outdoor location where guests can take advantage of wide open spaces and stunning views.”

“A wedding should be a true expression of the personalities of the couple.”

A boutique wine bar on wheels, The Pop Inn has, well, popped up at a variety of locations across Canberra since they opened in 2017 and their cheeky approach to al fresco drinking has earned them a cult following, with locals glued to their social media to find out where they’ll be next. But as Kimberley explains, the Pop Inn can also be hired for private events to bring luxurious tipples to the most unlikely of places.

“We love events where we design something truly unique and special for our customers,” she explains. “Whether French Champagne is a favourite, or they love a local drop, we are happy to design a personalised wine/drinks menu for the special event.”

“The best part is The Pop Inn can be in so many different locations that are meaningful or special to the couple.”

With sleek black lines and modern lighting, couples who want to combine nature and modern luxury needn’t worry about having to style The Pop Inn to suit their celebration.

“The wine bar also features warm, wooden walls and stairs making it work for a more modern yet rustic setting as well,” adds Kimberley. “Paired with some wine barrels and long strings of Edison lights it creates a warm, celebratory mood.”

So what exactly can they provide for your celebration?

“We focus on providing great quality wines, beer and soft drink on a per head/per hour package,” says Kimberley. “We have packages that we design starting from $24 per head. We are also happy to source special wines if the happy couple has a favourite or want something a bit different and build a package to suit.”

And the best part? They can even help you secure some spectacular Canberra locations for your event.

You’ll be able to chat to Kimberley and The Pop Inn team at UNVEILED The Event on Saturday 3 June at the National Portrait Gallery where they’ll be serving up a tipple or two to warm up ticket holders.

From 2pm to 4:30pm you can sample Cake Wines Sparkling and a variety of cheeses. After 4:30pm they will be selling glasses of Cake Wines Sparkling, Kardinia Riesling, Kardinia Durif, Sholto Sangiovese and cheese/meat plates so you can kick back and enjoy the afternoon after browsing!

Samples are free with your general admission ticket!
