Four Canberra girls’ clubs you need on your radar

Posted on

Making female friends is hard as an adult, no matter if you’ve just moved to town or if you consider yourself a Canberra lifer.

And while Canberra is home to an abundance of ways to make friends (you can read about some of them here), for those wanting to specifically make female friendships, there are a few networking clubs that need to be on your radar.

Designed with women in mind (and accommodating of all ages and backgrounds), each of these four clubs is sure to offer something to interest you – from trivia nights to dinner sessions and social walks.

You never know – you might just find the Samantha to your Carrie (pre-And Just Like That…) or the Thelma to your Louise. You’ll never know unless you go.

The CBR Gals Network

An interactive community created to empower women in the Canberra area, the CBR Gals Network is constantly hosting events designed to connect women of all ages, ranging from a podcast club to trivia nights, a book club and even ‘Gal Dinner’ sessions. Keep an eye on their Instagram page to see what’s coming up next.

Actually Social Gals

Hosting events for women in their 20s, 30s and 40s, this new social networking club coming to Canberra aims to make socialising more fun and less scary.

Designed specifically for people to attend alone, Actually Social Gals host events like group dinners, coffee catch-ups, craft nights, run clubs and more. What makes this social club different? You don’t pay for one-off events – instead you join as a member for full access to everything that’s happening.

The Girls Club CBR

A community created for women looking to connect, move and make friends (without the pressure of awkward small talk), the Girls Club CBR is helping to build friendships, on stroll at a time.

The Girls Club CBR hosts free monthly walks in various locations across Canberra. Designed to be as introvert-friendly as possible, there’s no pressure to stay for the whole thing.

Also partnering with local sporting clubs to host free taster sessions, it’s all about trying something new with the bonus of meeting a few friendly faces along the way.
