Meet your Great Canberra Cook Off finalists

It’s been a flurry of excitement over at the Healthier Choices Canberra HQ.
We’ve been busy sorting through all the fantastic entries for The Great Canberra Cook Off! And now (drum roll) we’re super excited to announce the finalists!
These incredible people, in each of the three categories: Stripped Back Chef, Teen Chef and Little Chef will battle it out in a cook off event for the ultimate title of Canberra’s top chef. Plus, they’ll receive some great prizes from our amazing sponsors:

The 11 recipes from the finalists will be published in a special Great Canberra Cook Off eBook and available for free download on the ACT Health website when the winners are announced! Stay tuned for that!
And now, Canberra, meet your finalists:
Stripped Back Chef
Andreas
Loves gardening and cooking with fresh produce for his family because it brings them together! He wants to show us how fun cooking healthier can be.
Melissa
Uni student who loves food blogging and travelling for inspiration! Melissa is lactose intolerant and a vegetarian. She loves making food simple and tasty and believes that once you eat well, you’re inspired to live well.
Franzi
Loves healthy cooking! In Germany where she grew up food is life. Franzi wants to show Canberrans how easy it is to make healthier food delicious.
Mary
Passionate about inventing and adapting recipes to make them more nutritious, healthier and jam packed with flavour while still budget-friendly.
Teen Chef
Maeve and Indi (team entry)
Friends who’ve created an easy and delicious recipe that’s simple and easy to make. They sure are a great team!
Sebastian
Enjoys making snacks with his mates! He knows it’s important to fuel his body for mountain biking and bouldering. Sebastian is passionate about showing his friends how options like this are way better than fast food.
Ava
Loves parkour, baseball and Oztag. She comes from a Greek family and wants to show off her family’s incredible Greek food.
Little Chef
Luke
Loves soccer, swimming and making paper planes. He loves cooking his healthier recipes because veggies give him strength and speed!
Oscar
Likes to do one thing—cook! He’s been cooking since he was three. Oscar thinks that you could find his family in the dark because they eat so many carrots! He wants to encourage everyone to take part in a happier and healthier way of cooking.
Lily
Inspired by her cooking program at school. She wants to be Canberra’s Little Chef to expand her cooking knowledge.
Lola
Loves cooking because there’s no wrong or right result. She said that sometimes a mistake can make her recipes more delicious!
