And with a stellar line-up planned (including talks from some of the nation’s top sustainability celebrities who will be interviewed by HerCanberra’s own Emma Macdonald), trust us when we say will be plenty to see, do, and try on the day.

Here are five reasons to get inspired at Ginninderry this weekend—and get ready for a fun day out.

Listen to Damon Gameau talk about innovations for a cleaner future

The man behind the thought-provoking documentaries 2040—in which he explores solutions to the climate crisis—and That Sugar Film, Damon is an actor, director, and producer who was nominated in 2020 for NSW Australian of the Year for his work in ‘the Regeneration’ movement.

Ready to discuss his respective philosophies, head along to learn more about what the world could look like in 2040 if we actioned the best solutions to many of our environmental challenges.

Love food? Don’t miss chef Matthew Evans

Matthew Evans is a chef and former food critic turned food activist who now runs Fat Pig Farm in Tasmania—a 70-acre farm where he lives and nurtures food from the soil to turn it into meals for the farmhouse table, following principles of ethical and sustainable production.

As an advocate for sustainable food farming and a strong believer in knowing and trusting the food you eat, in Matthew’s talk, you’ll learn about the ways in which he is leading other Australians to follow more ecologically-conscious pathways.

Paul West dishes the dirt on the Grow it Local movement

You know him as the star of the Australian version of the popular River Cottage series and now you can hear Paul West (a former chef at fine dining establishment Vue de Monde) dish the dirt on his work as a writer on food, soil, and the Grow it Local movement (as well as his role as a regular ABC radio commentator and television presenter).

Take landscape design up a level with Edwina Robinson

Joining the Inspire Festival is The Climate Factory’s Edwina Robinson—a landscape architect passionate about building climate-cooling community micro-forests. Talking about all things sustainable landscape design and climate-resistant landscapes, it’ll be a great opportunity to learn about the benefits of micro forests in Canberra (and more).

And much, much more!

From test-driving an e-bike to learning new recipes, the chance to meet dirtgirl from Dirtgirlworld as well as the Gecko Gang, discovering gardening tricks, and taste-testing food samples, as well as workshops, tours, and more, if you want to learn more about a sustainable lifestyle, Ginninderry’s Inspire Festival is an absolute must-experience event. See you there?
