Virgin Australia launches direct Canberra–Bali flights with $449 return fares
A tropical winter escape just became a whole lot more tempting, with Virgin Australia launching a limited-time offer of return flights from Canberra to Bali (Denpasar) from just $449*.
The catch? You’ll need to be quick – the sale runs until 11:59 pm AEST Friday 26 June 2026 (unless sold out prior), with travel available on selected dates between 28 July 2026 and 24 May 2027.
The sale marks a major milestone for Canberra travellers, with Virgin Australia launching its first-ever international flight from the nation’s capital.
The new direct Canberra–Bali service means locals can now swap airport transfers and interstate connections for a much simpler journey: leave from home and arrive in one of Australia’s favourite tropical holiday destinations.
Operating three times a week, the route will add more than 40,000 seats annually between Canberra and Bali, giving Canberrans more options to chase sunshine, beaches, good food and a slower holiday pace.
Because while Canberra winters have their own charm, there’s something undeniably appealing about trading frosty mornings for warm tropical days, poolside afternoons and the relaxed rhythm of island life.
Bali has long been a favourite escape for Australians thanks to its mix of beautiful beaches, incredible food, wellness experiences, lush landscapes and vibrant culture – and now getting there is easier than ever.
Flights will operate seasonally on Virgin Australia’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with Business Class, Economy X and Economy seating options available.
So if you’ve been dreaming of a winter getaway, this might be your sign – Bali is now just a direct flight away, and for a limited time, it could cost less than you think.
