Summer Loving {Plus Size Fashion}: The Kimono

With summer well and truly here it’s a good time to rethink your wardrobe and pack away the things you definitely know you won’t be using for a while (woollen scarves, gloves, jackets etc).
With each season comes different trends and this season is very much about the kimono. It’s a way to protect yourself from the sun without being covered in layers of cotton and sweating bullets. I personally love them.

Kimonos are a great holiday essential; you can throw one on over swimmers, singlets, maxi-dresses, t-shirt and jeans – the works! It is possibly one of THE most versatile pieces in my wardrobe this summer.
Recently I teamed the Sportsgirl Embroidered Dreamcatcher Kimono ($79.95) with a pair of rolled up black jeans, my favourite sparkly ankle boots from Wittner, a plain black tee and my Michael Kors bag for an effortless chic night look.

Kimonos can range from colourful to plain, fringing or simple hems, long or short. The two I’m coveting at the moment are from Sportsgirl, and as a plus size woman and even though this item is considered ‘one size fits all’ – it actually FITS ALL!
