Northsiders rejoice! Gungahlin welcomes a luxe new Pilates studio with the opening of Muse Pilates
Posted on
There are a few things that make a Pilates studio great – the atmosphere, the teachers and the ethos behind the brand itself.
Since arriving in Canberra in 2021, Muse Pilates has offered all that and more.
Opening studios all around Canberra – from the Foreshore to the leafy suburb of Campbell – it’s made a name for itself amongst Pilates lovers across the city. And now it’s opening in Gungahlin.
Offering a new luxe Pilates studio to northside locals looking to stretch both their mind and body, Muse Pilates Gungahlin will be bringing a boutique reformer experience to the area.
Owned and operated by Canberra couple Harita and Robinson, the choice to buy Muse Pilates Gungahlin was born from their own passion for the practice.
Harita works in IT and spends long hours sitting at a computer. She first joined Muse Pilates Woden after spending many hours (and dollars) on massages and gym memberships without finding long-term relief.
“Within just two weeks, the difference was incredible; it felt almost like magic. My pain started to ease, and I felt stronger than ever before,” she explains.
“Soon after, my daughter joined me, followed by Robinson, and Pilates became something we all enjoyed together as a family.”
The choice to join Muse Pilates as a franchisee felt like a natural fit – a side business that genuinely reflects the family’s lifestyle and values.
Inspired by founder Allana Ford’s journey and vision – as well as the luxurious look and feel of the studios – they decided they wanted to help bring the Muse Effect to a new area of Canberra.
“As a family, we already believed in the benefits of Pilates and had personally experienced the Muse difference, which made the decision feel aligned and natural for all of us.”
Blending contrasting colours with earthy textures that are complemented by maple-toned reformers, the brand’s signature luxe stylings will run through the space with soft sheer curtains, a calming water feature, elegant designer lighting, and a subtle hint of neon.
But what makes the Gungahlin studio distinctive is its small size.
With only 12 reformers, Harita and Robinson are offering a boutique, client-focused experience.
“At Muse Gungahlin, all classes are led by highly trained instructors, ensuring quality and consistency,” explains Harita.
“This allows us to provide personalised attention.”
The studio will also be a true family affair.
“Robinson will manage operations, our daughter Tani will lead social media and digital presence, and I will support the studio as a co-owner and the face of the business.”
“We see this as something that not only brings us closer as a family but also allows us to build something meaningful together.”
Tani is also studying to become a Pilates instructor, with plans to teach at Muse Gungahlin once she’s certified.
While this is the first time Harita and Robinson are managing a Pilates studio, they have big plans. They want to build a thriving studio with a strong and loyal community,
However, as the opening date of Monday 20 April approaches, they want to focus on supporting clients who – like them – want to experience the benefits Pilates has to offer physically, mentally and emotionally.
“We are passionate about building a positive and supportive community. Our world-class instructors bring variety and energy to every class, and each session is tailored to suit individual needs,” says Harita.
“At Muse Gungahlin, it’s not just about fitness, it’s about feeling stronger, healthier, happier and more confident.”
