Say ‘Oui!’ to HerCanberra Ladies Night at the Alliance Française French Film Festival

Posted on

In need of a francy evening filled with wine, cheese, live music, and a taste of the best of French cinema? Then say bonsoir to the beloved HerCanberra Ladies at the Alliance Française French Film Festival.

Kicking off next Thursday 16 March, you and a friend can immerse yourself in a night that celebrates the je ne sais quoi of French culture—from food and wine to cinema that is nothing short of breathtaking.

Simply make your way to Palace Cinema and let the soothing sounds of jazz artist Leila Gato draw you into this intimate cultural experience. After you’ve secured your complimentary glass of Champagne (yes, the real stuff) you’ll be given a plate of French snacks (Cheese! Tapenade! Bread!) as you head into the cinema.

The film this year? Hilarious comedy Two Tickets to Greece which will transport you from Paris to the warmth of the Mediterranean sun.

Featuring a star-studded cast and an incredible soundtrack with classics such as Candi Stato ‘Young Hearts Run Free,’ (yes, you’ll see us dancing in our seats), this fresh and funny comedy is packed with adventure, Mediterranean beaches and just the right amount of ridiculousness. Get ready to laugh, cry and feel as though you’ve travelled around the world simultaneously. Did we mention you won’t need your passport?

As this wildly funny girl’s trip unfolds, audiences will quickly fall in love with these refreshing and authentic characters, a testimony to the director and writer Marc Fitoussi (of Call My Agent fame), who masterfully captures the levity and vulnerability of female friendships.

Naturally, tickets for this magical evening of film, fun, and frivolity are selling out fast – so get in quick. Meet you at the Champagne table?
