Elk & Pea out, Milky Lane in, and a Caribou spotted in Kingston

The Latin American flavours of Elk & Pea have moved out of Lonsdale Street, and the fully-loaded burgers of Milky Lane are moving in. And a Caribou has been spotted in Kingston.
Lovers of fully-loaded burgers and the Milky Lane style of extreme dairy drinks are preparing for the impending arrival of the burger chain to Lonsdale Street, Braddon—which we are told is due to open in December.
But we’re here today to explain to you what has happened to our former fave Elk & Pea—which last month sold its location to the Milky Lane Canberra franchise—and to bring you exciting news.

The Elk has grown into a Caribou and has migrated to Kingston!
Since closing the doors to one of Lonsdale Street’s foodie stalwarts in August, Canadian-born owner Leeroy Petersen and his wife and business partner Sophia have focused on two new adventures—setting up their newest space in Green Square which they are calling Caribou, and having a baby, Alissa.
Their new daughter is as beautiful as they come, and much-loved by five-year-old big brother, Koby.
And Caribou promises to be everything Leeroy misses about home—a Canadian-themed “real” pub, which promises hearty food and lots of sport.

Between a spot of pool or a game of darts, you will be able to feast on poutine (fries loaded with cheese and gravy), mac and cheese waffles, potato skins and big steaks with jacket potatoes—among other things!
Whiskey-lovers are also going to be taken care of, Leeroy promises.
He wants to place to be as warm and embracing as a downy ski jacket after a rigorous game of ice hockey, full of “good ole Canadian charm”.
For those who are misty-eyed about the loss of Elk and Pea, Leeroy has brought across some of the team and made room on the menu to also migrate some of Elk’s most popular dishes to Caribou—their famous bacon, cheese and mushroom tostadas among them.
Koby is also getting in on the family business, helping to design a kids’ menu.
We will bring you all the delicious details of Caribou a little closer to opening time—slated for a soft launch in November.
