A four course menu (and matching drinks) dedicated to potatoes? Spud-tactular!
Posted on
Monster Kitchen and Bar is dedicating an exclusive feast to our favourite carbohydrate—the potato—and it promises to be a spud-tactular experience.
That’s right—aptly named 50 Shades of Potato, as a part of their Plant’d Hero Series Monster Kitchen and Bar’s head Chef Matthew Bentley has crafted a menu that showcases the variety and splendor of the humble spud, taking it beyond the classic fry.
Think four courses of potatoey goodness, including a first course of fluffy dutch cream potato pancakes with cultured butter and Canberra truffle, followed by yukon gold potato with leek crispy onion, 63° egg, miso, and chive foam, and crispy kale. The third course is a carb-filled dream, offering the delicious combination of purple congo potato, spaghetti, crisp, emulsion and shiso. Yum.
If that’s not enough you’ll also have kipper potato crisps to snack on all night and a dessert of sweet potato mousse, soft chocolate, milk jam foam, and hazelnut crunch. I’ll just leave you to drool for a moment.

Anyone want some sweet potato mousse?
Designed to change your perception on this much-loved root vegetable, you’ll also have the choice to add on matching beverages boasting with vibrant flavors that are sure to a-peel to everyone—because who doesn’t want to combine potatoes with cocktails?
Taking place for one night only on Wednesday 27 July at 6:30 pm, make sure to bring some friends for the feast—it costs $95pp to enjoy the incredible menu (which is filled with a large variety of Australian homegrown spuds).
Who doesn’t love cutting-edge carbs? Potatoes are definitely sexy again.
