Dairy Road just got even cooler: Meet the new arrivals
Posted on
You’ve undoubtedly heard the news that Under is making its debut at Dairy Road, but did you know that there’s been an influx of new businesses in the area?
Known for its industrial vibe and eclectic assortment of creative local businesses, the area is gradually transforming into one of the coolest places to visit in Canberra. No surprise when you know that Molonglo – the visionaries behind NewActon precinct – are responsible for shaping its development.
And now, it’s welcoming some new faces.
Joining the slew of local businesses already calling Dairy Road home – including Capital Brewing Co, Canteen, Grainger Gallery, BlocHaus Bouldering, Lonsdale Street Roasters, and the Mill Theatre – the precinct is once again being revitalised and refreshed with the recent openings of several new businesses focused on food, health, recreation and wellbeing.
With new flexible warehouse and hospitality spaces available for established Canberra businesses (which means you can expect even more exciting announcements in the future), here’s what you need to know about Dairy Road’s newest residents.
Under Bakery

Opening a second venue at Dairy Road in a purpose-built space nearly four times the size, the cult favourite bakery Under is set to start baking very soon. Matching the area’s industrial look and feel, the new space will allow the team to be more experimental and creative as they bake daily sourdough loaves, sweet buns and pastries right in front of your eyes.
Spilling out into the Dairy Road gardens – and with plans to expand their offering and introduce weekly pastry and lunch specials – you’ll be able to enjoy a coffee with your baked goods in the sun.
