The sweet details: Charcoal croissant. Gold dust. Swiss chocolate custard. This is more than a snack—it’s a sensory experience. Oversized and so full of custard that cutting one open is almost NSFW, treating yourself to one of these on World Chocolate Day is guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth because it tastes as good as it looks.

Where you can find it: Available for pick up from the Wildflour shopfronts in Weston Creek, Fyshwick, and Kingston, you’ll need to run (or pre-order online) to get your hands on this speciality pastry—they sell out fast!

The sweet details: Chocolatey? Check. Spicy? Check. Crunchy? Decadent? Check, check, and check. We don’t want to be biased, but the White Chocolate Chilli Pudding is possibly the best thing on the menu at Natural Nine (because yes—the HerCanberra team has tried it). Served with salted caramel ice cream and a milk crumb, anyone who loves chocolate and isn’t afraid of a little spice will love this dessert.

Where you can find it: Only available as part of the Natural Nine dine-in menu, you’ll have to make a special trip to Casino Canberra for this one. But it’s so very worth it—and it means you can try the rest of the menu. Win/win.

Nutella and Marshmallow Pizza from Mama Dough Pizza

The sweet details: Think a pizza can’t get any better? Haaavvee you tried a dessert pizza? Skip the savoury options and go straight for a Nutella-coated pizza with marshmallows for dinner instead. Noms.

Where you can find it: Head into Mama Dough Pizza in Ainslie for this sweet treat—and the best part is you can even swap to a gluten-free base!

A Hot Chocolate Bomb from Kate’s Bombs

The sweet details: Level up your hot chocolate with a homemade, handcrafted hot chocolate bomb by Kate’s Bombs. The beauty of this treat is all you need to do is choose your flavour (think classic options like milk, dark and white chocolate, or speciality options like mocha, matcha latte, cookies and cream or Biscoff) and add hot milk. Portable and delicious, enjoy it literally anywhere.

Where you can find it: Visit Splatter Gallery or Pop Canberra to pick some up in person or message the Kate’s Bombs Facebook page to order your own!

The sweet details: Original cookie dough that’s been packed with milk chocolate chips, roast hazelnuts and a soft Nutella centre…need we say more? Gooey and delicious, this dessert is just as thick as the iconic New York-style cookie and is very hard to resist—so don’t.

Where you can find it: Order a coffee and eat this in the Woden-based café or take it home for a little somethin’ somethin’ later. Either way, you’re welcome.

The sweet details: It’s the collaboration we didn’t know we needed—and it’s more than chocolate. With coffee beans, cashew praline and cream, this special tart from Dada is not only delicious (as anything with Jasper + Myrtle chocolate is delicious) but it’s also vegan, making this unique dessert a 10/10 option for everyone.

Where you can find it: Eat in or take this goodie away! Located right next door to Space Kitchen in Woden, dare we suggest a chocolate dessert hop?

Matcha White Hot Chocolate from Godiva

The sweet details: Newly opened in the Canberra Centre, it only makes sense to stop into Godiva for a chocolatey treat—but what about trying their Matcha White Hot Chocolate? The combination of creamy white chocolate with matcha elevates both the flavours, making them explode in your mouth. And don’t worry if you’re lactose intolerant—you can even swap the milk for soy, oat or almond.

Where you can find it: Located on the ground floor of the Canberra Centre (near Sushi Sushi), run (don’t walk) to try it for yourself. It’s the ultimate winter treat.

The sweet details: This one is for our gluten-free friends—did you know Lépi Artisan Bakery Café in Chisholm has a moist, decadent chocolate lava mud cake made without gluten? That’s right, set aside the classic GF brownie and treat your tastebuds to a French take on a classic cake.

Where you can find it: Available only at the Chisholm-based bakery, pick up this gorgeous cake to take away with a coffee to enjoy at home (because the only thing that makes chocolate cake better is eating it in your pyjamas). And as a little pro tip, if you heat it up in the microwave and add ice cream, it’s pure heaven.
