For many Canberrans, hampers are an important and much-loved Christmas tradition. They’re the perfect gift…
Recently opened Forrest Specialty Coffee has brought fresh eats and delicious ONA coffee to Westfield Belconnen.
Operated by the passionate team behind Civic’s new East Row Cafe, Forrest Specialty Coffee offers a new way to brunch and lunch with a diverse—and Instagram-worthy—menu.
“For the sweet lovers, I would recommend the waffles,” says Head Chef, Yokas Wu. “It’s all of my favourite ingredients and basically just a party on a plate! Chocolate Anglaise, caramelised banana, waffles, caramel popcorn and ice cream.”
“There’s also the Breakfast Panacotta. Jiggly cream pudding, crunchy oats and a blueberry compote with extra seasonal berries. Mix them up and experience an explosion of creaminess and freshness.”
Keen for something more savoury?
How about a Mushroom Benedict with a Three Mills Rye English muffin topped with mixed exotic mushrooms, double Brie cheese and hollandaise, finished with a dusting of paprika dukkah? Run, don’t walk.
Prefer a plant-based dish? Try the Vegan Meatballs with Napoli, roasted cashews, pickled cucumber, onion salsa, and corn chips.
Forrest Specialty Coffee’s interiors mirror those of its city counterpart, with a fresh, light and welcoming space complete with industrial elements and oodles of greenery.
Yokas explains he and his team were excited to bring a “finer dining brunch spot” to Belconnen, with the name a play on the term ‘for rest’.
“Forrest offers people a place to have a break, while enjoying great food and coffee. But the beauty is that they’re also in the most convenient location to run errands, go shopping, head to the gym, or entertain the kids.”
“We’re also opposite the kid’s playground which is an absolute advantage as parents can easily watch their kids while enjoying their coffee. You’ll forget you’re inside a shopping centre entirely.”
