Welcome to your new-old Friday night: drinks at Old Parliament House

Posted on
Friday Night Drinks at Old Parliament House are back, baby, and they kick off this weekend.
They were a Canberra institution back in the day and have gained a whole new following over recent years. And whether you’re a Gen X-er rediscovering this Friday night tradition or a Gen Z looking for something a bit different, there are few more fun ways to kick off the weekend than after-work drinks at Old Parliament House.
Originating back in the early 2000s, OPH was the place to be on Friday. Thousands of punters would head to the courtyard to enjoy cheap beers, cocktails, delish food, and good tunes. And while the Canberra bar scene has changed over the last couple of decades, the recipe for a good night out has not.
The revived OPH drinks will reprise all the elements that made the original such a success, including a selection of hot and cold food and a partnership with Capital Brewing Co., who will be tapping their best (along with serving a selection of wines).
Kicking off from 4 pm on Friday 3 October (that’s this Friday FYI), the relaunch will take place every week, helping you start your weekend right with a fun night out with workmates, friends, and good vibes.
Welcome to your new-old Friday night. See you there?
