Greasy’s opens in Belco tomorrow and they’re slinging 500 free burgers to celebrate!

Mark your calendars, Belconnen locals – Friday 19 September is about to become your new favourite day of the year.

Grease Monkey is finally rolling into Westfield Belconnen, and they’re celebrating with 500 free burgers for the early birds who rock up on opening day.

The beloved burger joint has been teasing this northside expansion for months, fielding countless “When are you coming to Belco?” questions from hungry locals. Now the wait is officially over, and director Nick Tuckwell couldn’t be more excited to finally answer those persistent requests.

“This one has been a long time coming – I’ve been getting asked A LOT when we’ll be open in Belco,” Tuckwell says. The team’s response? A massive thank-you gesture in the form of complimentary Greasy burgers for the first 500 people through the doors.

Located on level 3 of Westfield Belconnen, the new venue brings all the classics Canberrans have come to love. Think signature burgers, Detroit-style pizza, fried chicken, and the “bevs & banter” atmosphere that’s made Grease Monkey a local institution.

For those who’ve been making the trek to Braddon, Gungahlin, or Woden for their burger fix, this Belco opening is a game-changer. No more crossing town for that perfect patty – it’s finally right in your backyard.

The opening coincides perfectly with spring festival season too, as the Greasy Food Truck will be making appearances at events like Floriade from 13 September. But let’s be honest – nothing beats having a permanent local spot where you can grab a burger and a brew whenever the craving strikes.

“Belco has rallied behind us while we’ve been building, so we hope to see plenty of people there sharing a bevie with us,” Tuckwell adds. And for those preferring to stay cosy at home, the new location expands their northside delivery zone significantly.
