A micro margarita bar is now open in Constitution Place – meet Karl Bar

Posted on

There’s no shortage of amazing bars in Canberra’s city, but a micro bar dedicated to the humble margarita in Constitution Place may be the smallest.

It’s time to meet Karl – a teeny cocktail and wine bar brought to life by the Chairman Group (one of the longest-standing culinary families in Canberra and local leaders in Pan-Asian cuisine).

Inspired to dedicate a very small, intimate space to the margarita (and if you’ve ever sipped on one of those bad boys at Cicada Bar, you know how good they are), Karl Bar has just opened its doors at Constitution Place – nestled between ARC Cafe and Mu Omakase.

Open now, it’s inspired by the iconic designer of the same name – Karl Lagerfeld.

Promising moody, dark, and understated interiors (and personally I have my fingers crossed for a reference to the impossibly chic Choupette), it sounds exclusive, and elegant, just the way the former Chanel creative director would have liked it.

And with only a handful of cocktails on the menu which will be heavy on the margaritas, as the somewhat controversial Karl Lagerfeld once said “If you throw money out of the window, throw it out with joy” –which is the perfect excuse to order a round or two of cocktails if we’ve ever heard one.
