Music to the ears of burger lovers—Pattysmiths comes to Dickson

Melbourne premium burger brand Pattysmiths has arrived in the capital. And if burgers are not your thing, perhaps some Alabama Chicken & Wings will keep you humming.

But before music lovers dust out their old vinyl records, the name is not in reference to rock icon Patti Smith, but a reference to each meat patty being handcrafted—think blacksmith, but for burgers.

The new eatery is part of a nationwide expansion of Pattysmiths covering Victoria, Queensland and the ACT.

The brand preaches a gourmet alternative to the more traditional fast food burgers with each of their freshly ground wagyu and Angus beef patties hand-smashed on a custom-built cast iron hot plate, ensuring the patties are served with that trademark golden crust you won’t see elsewhere.

In addition to Pattysmiths, the Dickson restaurant is also serving up Alabama Chicken & Wings—bringing the essence of the deep south with its signature range of rubs and sauces.

Pattysmiths Dickson’s entrepreneurial owner, Omer Siddiq, is just 20 but is no stranger to the Canberra food scene. Omer has extensive hospitality experience having worked in his family’s restaurant Taj Agra since he was a child, and has big ambitions to expand Pattysmiths throughout the ACT.

His point of difference is that the ACT franchise will be certified Halal. While the menu promises burgers with bacon and maple bacon, Omer is using a faux bacon made from chicken.

Launching in a challenging pandemic year, Omer and his team are now trading, so go experience your first taste. They are also looking forward to their grand opening on Wednesday 16 December at 241/6 Cape Street in Dickson, and will be giving away 1000 free shakes to celebrate.
