Fusing together Japanese and Korean cuisines, AZUMA Den promises a unique dining experience for both vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Showcasing both cultures’ strengths through carefully crafted dishes, those looking for plant-based options will enjoy dishes like mushroom and tofu house-made dumplings, sweet potato noodles with enoki mushrooms and vegetables, silken spicy tofu, and finger eggplant flame-grilled with gochujang and miso on the hibachi grill.

From the team behind Terra and Recess, this new Braddon venue is part wine bar, part listening lounge, and all good vibes. And who doesn’t love a menu that’s snack-led but substantial?

On the menu here, vegos will find pickled zucchini with brown butter and white soy, sugarloaf cabbage with hot English mustard hummus and preserved lemon dressing, and ricotta scaroinocc with brown butter, pangrattato, pecorino pepato and truffle, as well as a whole lot more.

Johnny Gio’s Pizza (Braddon)

Cult pizza fave Johnny Gio’s has brought its New York-Italian style to Braddon, and you’ll want to get your hands on a slice from here. Hand-stretched dough baked to crispy perfection provides the foundation for generous, flavour-packed toppings, including plenty of options for those who don’t eat meat.

An example? The Vego Lover overflowing with pomodoro, mozzarella, eggplant, capsicum, artichokes, zucchini and basil pesto, while the Zaza combines the mouthwatering flavours of porcini mushroom, smoked scarmoza, garlic, parmesan and truffle oil.

Looking for something simple? You can never beat a classic Margherita pizza.

Kivotos (Woden)

Capturing the warmth and conviviality of Greek island dining, Kivotos has recently opened a new Greek wine bar and restaurant at the Hellenic Club.

Serving Greek dishes that focus on both tradition and technique, vegetarians won’t be disappointed with the offerings. Think: char-grilled pita bread and dips, vegetarian moussaka paddle pops, saganaki, vegetarian bifteki and a selection of salads.
