You better brie-live it: a cheese festival is coming to Canberra!

Posted on

Cheese lovers, your time has come.

When it comes to cheese, there are two kinds of people: those who like it and those who identify as a very large mouse.

And we don’t blame them. There’s something about cheese that just…slaps.

It instantly elevates any dish, is the perfect addition to a charcuterie board or wine night, and is considered healthy enough that you can eat a whole block in one sitting and say that you’re focusing on your protein, calcium, and vitamin intake.

Luckily, for those who align themselves firmly in Group B, the Canberra Cheese Festival is coming to Canberra in May. Cue the squeaks and squeals of cheese lovers everywhere.

Presented by Le Cheeserie and Grainger Gallery, the Canberra Cheese Festival will be taking place from Friday 8 until Sunday 10 May, bringing together exceptional cheesemakers from across Australia for both casual consumers and hardcore curd nerds alike to enjoy.

Across the three days, you’ll get to meet the makers and (most importantly) taste their amazing award-winning cheese. And if that’s not enough, they’ll be pairing it all with premium Canberra District wines, making the event feel like one massive cheese board.

Add in caviar, cocktails, raclette, and Parmesan wheel pasta, and you’ll be rolling yourself (and your bags) home.

Starting from $20, your ticket includes all cheese and wine samples as well as a Canberra Cheese Festival-branded cooler bag. For $35, you’ll also get a branded wine glass for tastings. The full festival line-up will be announced closer to the date, so keep an eye out.

And as for those who are dairy or lactose free, we send our condolences. This probably isn’t the event for you. For everyone else, it promises to be a gouda time.
