Five things to do this weekend

Posted on

As we settle into our fourth weekend in lockdown, we know it is tough to find the motivation to be productive and utilise our time.

It’s also going to be rain, rain rain, so we’ve put together another list of activities that will pull you out of your stay-at-home blues and enjoy the weekend ahead while staying safe and supporting our community.

From self-care and workouts to starting a new hobby, here are five things to do this weekend that don’t involve scrolling mindlessly on your phone!

Get mindful

Wellbeing studio Here. in Downer is helping us stay present and mindful during lockdown.

With online content offering yoga, meditation and pilates classes, this weekend is the perfect time to start your journey to mindfulness.

There are some free video classes on their website to start and more paid membership content on offer.

Get your body moving and relax your mind from the safety of your home. If you are yoga-pro or a beginner there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Not into yoga? Check out our list of at-home local fitness options here.

Get crafty

Been meaning to master a new hobby but don’t know where to start? Class Bento has an array of virtual workshops from watercolour painting and kintsugi to cocktail or pasta making, there is so much to discover.

They will also deliver craft kits to your home so you can stay safe and have everything you need.

If you want to get a bit more serious about a new hobby, hop online to and find a creative online course that suits you.

Get eating

Missing wining and dining your weekend away out on the town? Luckily so many of our favourite venues are offering delivery and takeaway options so you can enjoy a delicious meal cooked for you from the safety of your home.

Create some ambience at home, light some candles, play some music and enjoy some delicious pasta from Bar Rochford or perhaps a dinner pack from Pilot (with some great wine). If you want more dinner options for this weekend check out our list.

Get reading

We know you have probably exhausted all TV options by now so we suggest you enjoy the start of spring this weekend.

Cosy up and get lost in a great book—there is no better way to spend a Sunday morning! If you need some recommendations, check out our favourite lockdown reads.

Get baking

There is something so therapeutic about getting in the kitchen and baking something beautiful and delicious from scratch.

This weekend put on a podcast or your favourite album and put those baking skills to the test. Try this golden orange and almond cake.
