Six new ways to make female friendships in Canberra

Posted on
You can’t deny the power of female friendship – after all, there’s a reason it’s the source of many iconic moments in pop culture.
From Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte to Thelma and Louise, and even the slightly toxic Blair and Serena, it’s accurately portrayed as one of the most complex, beautiful and empowering connections a human can make.
Yet, when it comes to making female friends as an adult, it’s also one of the hardest things to maintain as life picks up and priorities constantly change thanks to work schedules, family responsibilities, or geographic moves.
Perhaps you’ve just moved to Canberra or maybe you’re looking to make some meaningful connections that didn’t know the high school version of you (not that there’s anything wrong with that). Either way, here are six groups in Canberra helping you dive straight into BFF territory without the small talk.
Friends With Her: Extra
Two years ago, Friends With Her began as casual networking events to foster connections in Canberra. Now, it’s evolved into something much deeper – a premium event series tackling the topics women are genuinely curious about.
Exploring everything from intimacy to hormone health, Friends With Her: Extra brings together like-minded women to share passions, stories, and unforgettable experiences. Offering real, relatable conversations that break the ice and help women connect more meaningfully, from talking about hormone health to cocktail making workshops, keep an eye on their social media to see what Friends With Her: Extra will be tackling next.

Connecting mums and creating a space where they can feel supported, empowered, and celebrated through feel-good activities, Good Energy Club holds a mix of online and in-person events, so keep an eye out to see how you can connect with other local mums.
CBR Gals Podcast
You’ve heard of book clubs, tried your hand at a craft circle and even attended a networking night – but have you heard of a Podcast Club?

Then, after a few weeks of solo listening, they come together at Contentious Character in Fyshwick to chat big ideas over good wine!
Reworking Motherhood
A grazing-style breakfast, bottomless barista-made coffee, conversation and connection – this new event series is helping mothers reclaim their mornings (and themselves).
