This week marks the official start to summer, which means it’s time to ditch those jackets in favour of more lightweight fabrics. With Canberra set for another warm week, what are you wearing to stay cool? We find out…

Isabell, O’Malley

“I’m wearing a sleeveless trench from Veronika Maine, a shift dress from Mango – which I got years ago! My shoes are from Long Tall Sally and my bag is Celine. When I’m shopping in Canberra, the Canberra Centre is usually a starting point; I also like Pink Ink across the road. I also do plenty of shopping online because there’s nothing better than relaxing in bed with a glass of wine and shopping.”

Ana, Franklin

“My top is by Hunter, she’s a Canberra girl and it’s sold in I Trip I Skip (my shop). I’m wearing Dr Denim jeans and Converse sneakers. My bag is Marc Jacobs. Braddon is my favourite place to shop, of course, because it’s independent and supports locals.”

Nick, Turner

“I’m wearing a French Connection linen shirt and Dr Denim. The concrete ring is by an artist from Hungary, this bracelet is a handmade one by a Spanish artist and the rest I’m not sure. They have all been hand made by artists all over the world. I don’t have an essential summer item, but I do like basic colours and have a minimalist style – I like to mix it up with accessories.”

Kelly, Farrer

“I’m wearing Pure Pod. It’s all fair trade organic cotton, hand printed in Byron Bay. The fabric and garment are all made in Australia. My summer essential would be an easy, natural fiber dress that I can just grab out of the cupboard and wear without any fuss. Easy care and wear and it’s got to be organic.”

Chien, Taiwan

“I purchased my outfit in Taiwan. I’m visiting Canberra. I really like it here, the people are wonderful.”
