What’s Your New Year’s Eve Party Style Personality?

Posted on

I love this time of the year. I love the season’s bustle, seeing the colour red everywhere, hearing the sound of wrapping paper and people making plans with their loved ones. That being said, it’s also a very busy time of the year. After the Christmas lunch, family events and the work parties, it can be kinda stressful to prepare for New Years Eve.

Hopefully this guide will take away a bit of stress by sorting out your look, no matter what your style may be. All the items are available in the Canberra Centre or online (links below). Say goodbye to 2014 by wearing your signature look with confidence, or anticipate the new year by embracing a new style. In any case, be who You want to be.

Here’s to a momentous 2014. Have a beautiful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The Bombshell – You’re sassy and feminine!

Channel Marilyn Monroe in this flattering, curve-enhancing wiggle dress. The stilettos are high with gold star motifs, because you’re a bit of a star yourself! When it comes to accessories, sparkle is a must. Bombshells will be the first to admit that diamonds are a girl’s best friend! But rhinestone teardrop earrings will achieve the same effect. These finishing touches will really bring out a playful, sexy look.

The Romantic – You’re a nostalgic dreamer!

While soft pinks or beige are colours du-jour, romantics tend to be very passionate people. They have high standards, strong imaginations and big dreams. A red dress is the perfect statement to celebrate such passion, as well as the festive end of the year. If you want to take a subtle risk, go for blush shoes instead of nude. It’s a nod to the wonderful colour-block trend we’ve seen all year, while staying true to the essential hues of a romantic look. Add nostalgia and vintage elegance with a beaded clutch and simple pearl studs.

The Minimalist – You’re sleek and structured!

Modern minimalism is far from dull! Minimalist clothes celebrate interesting textures, strong lines and architecture in clothes. This two-piece bustier and skirt is dramatic and sculptural, while the small pattern is a subtle twist on the usual minimalist style. Jewellery is usually limited to one piece: something modern and industrial. Similarly, shoes have unusual angles and clean lines to make a statement.

HC_NYE_Eclectic

The Eclectic – You’re unconventional and worldly!

The beauty of an eclectic is that there’s something slightly ‘undone’ about the look. It’s a little bit eccentric, a bit flawed— a bold look that reflects your diverse interests and inner freedom more than any trends. This dress has an intriguing tribal slash psychedelic feed. The jewellery here suggests all the places you’ve travelled, or the unique vintage pieces you’ve found while roaming the flea markets of a faraway land. You can mix and (not) match silver with wood with leather with beads prints — and pull it off with absolute confidence.

The Classic – You’re timeless but edgy!

This is definitely a modern classic look. It’s about giving classics a new edge. There are several iconic looks and evening wear combinations in fashion. The LBD is one of them. Here’s a twist on the LBD with the Little Black Jumpsuit (LBJ). Black, leopard and gold is also an iconic cocktail combination that’s befitting of both supermodels and aristocrats. Play around with it to create something new! Keep the shape of the classic pump, but add sex appeal with lace-ups. Interpreting classics to suit your style can be a really fresh way to have fun with fashion!
