Three cafés to get a treat with your morning coffee
Posted on
After all, what’s coffee without a little treat?
It’s a rule here at HerCanberra that if you’ve had a bad day, you deserve a treat. And if you’ve had a good day, you deserve a treat (we just really like treats).
Here are four Canberra cafés where you can get something yummy, sweet, and flaky to go with your morning coffee—all tried and tested (because someone has to do it).
Margot

Serving hand crafted espresso and light bites from 6:30 am daily, Margot’s lakeside location makes it the perfect choice for a cheeky morning coffee, pastry and walk combo (AKA the ultimate hot girl walk). Wander past to grab yourself a Wildflour pastry to go or sit back and enjoy the views as the sun rises.

Fav Cup Café

Bored of pastries? Fav Cup Café has taken the humble bagel to a whole new level—perfect for a sweet morning pick me up. Think the delectable Milo choc ice cream (a Milo bagel with Oreo crumb, maple cream cheese, choc ice cream, banana, and strawberries), the blueberry cheesecake (a blueberry bagel, Biscoff crumb, maple cream cheese, and vanilla ice cream) and a plain bagel served with vanilla yoghurt, banana, strawberries, blueberries and cinnamon sugar. You’re welcome.

Fox and Bow Red Hill

Brownies, a Snickers slice, Portuguese tarts, sweet potato date loaf and more. The beloved Fox and Bow has opened a second café at the Red Hill Shops and, yes, they have plenty of sweet treats to choose from. Head there before work to make the most of the views out across the leafy suburb (with an expansive outdoor seating area that’s perfect for groups and families)—and to make sure your desired delicacy doesn’t sell out.
