Pink Ribbon High Tea at Westfield Woden

A Taste Of Ireland

Deadly Funny

The biggest First Nations comedy competition is back in the ACT. Presented by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, this national competition has been unearthing the freshest and funniest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent from every corner of the country. Open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders over the age of 18, in this competition, workshop and performance, participants will be given an opportunity to work with a seasoned professional comedian to refine their ideas before unleashing them onstage in front of the competition judges and live audience. Madonna40: A Celebration

Shakespeare Rocks 

This is Shakespeare’s Henry Sixth Part One as you’ve never seen it, or heard it. Impro Acts: Duets

A theatrical inquiry into every imaginable type of relationship pairing (including romantic to familial and from collegiate to frenemies) at this show different scenarios will be presented every night in a duet. The Vampires

This Australian world-roots jazz group is coming to Canberra for an evening of distinctive melodies and rhythms. Ben Salter

Ben Salter – solo artist, museum piece and founding member of a number of ensembles including The Gin Club, Giants of Science and The Wilson Pickers – is hitting the road in September on his epic “Sublimation” tour. Guns & Flowers: Ex de Medici

Ex de Medici grew up and lives in Canberra and is one of Australia’s leading contemporary artists. In this exhbition at the Canberra Museum and Gallery, audiences will have the opportunity to see Medici’s earliest works, made when she was part of the energetic first wave of independent artist-activists in Canberra in the early 1980s, to some of her most recent, travelling from her acclaimed retrospective at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art.

Emerging From The Earth: Clay & Flowers

Challenging the common misconception of floral design as being relegated to “flowers in vases”, this exhbition showcases pairings of botanic and ceramic artists as a symbiotic relationship between the plant material and the vessels which contain or sustain them. Curated by Eve Sawa (VoxFlora) and Narelle Phillips (brave botanics) expect to see flowers or plant materials that appear in unexpected and exciting ways!

Emerging Artist Support Scheme Exhbition

The Gallery of Small Things has brought back its 4th Emerging Artist Support Scheme show, presenting the works of Alicia Cox (Ceramics workshop), Janet Jeffs (Painting Workshop) and Jonathon Zalakos (Gold & Silversmithing workshop) from the ANU School of Art + Design. Remnants

Remnants is a body of work that stems from the artists’ curiosity with family photos and heirlooms. Zero Waste: Doing It Imperfectly

Since finding her first drawer on the street a few years ago, Nancy Lane has been contemplating different ‘drawer’ projects. In this exhibition, she uses drawers to  symbolise global, systemic ‘boxed in’ thinking in relation to sustainability and climate change. Why? She hopes that these depictions of systemic complacency juxtaposed with personal commitment will inspire you to refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose and recycle.

Memphis Now

This co-curated show draws on the visually extravagant design movement that was derived by the Memphis Group (think: 1980s Italian architecture, furniture, poster art and glass). In this exhbition, you’ll find glass, print making and furniture by Judi Elliott, Drew Spangenberg, April Phillips, Kate Banazi, Ham Darroch and Gibson Karlo, all of whom have playful, geometric, and unashamedly bold works.
