How to celebrate Exercise Right Week

Through the power of exercise, you can take charge of your health, take charge of your well-being and take charge of your life!

Did you know over half of all Australians aren’t getting the recommended amount of physical activity? 

One in two Australians are living with at least one chronic condition (like cardiovascular disease or diabetes). Ahh—and 45% of Australians will experience a mental health condition, like depression, in their lifetime. There’s no better time to get active.

This year, during Exercise Right Week, we are sharing the message that ‘Exercise Changes Lives’.

Exercise is for everyone, regardless of age, weight, background or health status. With the right advice for your individual needs, you can change your life.

Firstly, why is exercise so important?

Your body NEEDS regular exercise to stay healthy, both physically and mentally.

Being physically active reduces your risk of chronic conditions, like heart disease and diabetes, reduces your risk of mental illness and helps you to live a happier and healthier life. And yet, Aussies aren’t moving enough… and it’s affecting how we live our lives.
