Holey Moley – the famed mini golf franchise is coming to Canberra!

A world of extraordinary fun is launching in Canberra this April with the opening of Funlab’s Holey Moley mini golf and Hijinx Hotel immersive game rooms in the city.

We’re talking mini golf, ball pits, immersive game rooms, crazy cocktails, and lots of eats.

Opening in the Canberra Centre on Friday 5 April to the delight of families and mini golf lovers everywhere, locals will soon be able to experience the fun (and competitive socialising) that the franchise offers. And with four function rooms, karaoke, two themed bars, 18 holes of mini-golf and 15 Hijinx Hotel immersive quick play rooms, the two venues will be overflowing with fun – including never-before-seen mini-golf holes and Hijinx Hotel rooms, launching for the first time in Canberra.

The whole crazy set up will be located on the corner of Cooyong Street and Adelaide Avenue, with access on the outside of Canberra Centre, near the old Target.

Known as being a bit nostalgic (with a mix of 80s, and 90s pop culture references), Holey Moley is a mini golf course that turns traditional putt putt into a multi-sensory labyrinth of unique holes. Each hole is themed, and is paired with dim lights, pumping tunes, delicious eats and quirky drinks. Canberrans can expect 18 holes that include favourites from other locations (like 742 Evergreen Terrace and Moon & Pars), as well as the new and exclusive a: Look for the Bear necessiTEES, Wheel of FORE-tune, and You Wanna Pizza Me.

And of course, for those looking for a cold drink and something to eat after a busy morning battling it on the course, the renowned Caddyshack bar, will be open for all off-the-green needs – including burgers, pizzas, tacos and some very funky cocktails.

As for the Hijinx Hotel, the main think you need to know is it’s a place that you play, not stay.  Instead of living it up for a night, guests will be able to experience quick play immersive rooms that combine the theatre and wonder of a quirky New York hotel, and the whimsical delight reminiscent of Willy Wonka meets Wes Anderson, within what seems like fifteen hotel rooms.

Each room has been uniquely designed for between two and six players to work together to complete challenges in a four-minute window to score points on a leaderboard. For those who have played here before, the Hijinx Hotel favourites (Adore-a-ball Pool, Scrambled, Poke the Dot, and Candy Ball Pool), will all be making an appearance, along with four brand new rooms just for Canberra: Clawesome, Zig-a-zag ah Ball Pool, Abandoned Arcade, and Basket Ballers.

Once you’re done for the day, you’ll be able to make their way to the bar onsite to enjoy the Instagram-worthy cocktails like Bubble and Pop, or experience all the classics with a selection of non-alcoholic options and food items.

Designed for kids and kids at heart to let loose and have some fun, Funlab CEO Michael Schreiber says the venue is designed to be a go-to that is beyond the typical bar, pub or restaurant experience, and is perfect for all-ages.
