The free K-Pop event coming to Canberra this spring for the Stray Kid in your life

You read that right: a K-Pop extravaganza is coming to the nation’s capital this month.
Calling all fans of BLACKPINK, BTS, and NewJeans, it’s time to get amongst the vibrant colours and sounds of Korea at this fun-filled festival.
With free festivities kicking off at 11 am on Saturday 21 September, thanks to the Korean Association of Canberra, this is the perfect excuse to take the K-Pop fan in your life to Glebe Park.
K-Pop has gained international traction over the past few years, transcending language and cultural barriers across the globe. The most recent stats from The Korea Foundation estimate there are over 89 million fans across 113 countries. Yes, just a meagre 89 million.
Some of those millions will be out in force and soaking up Korean culture in the spring sun, listening to the powerful beats of Traditional Korean Folk Music, watching the technical taekwondo demonstrations, playing traditional games, and enjoying school performances.
There are also Korean Street food stalls! We don’t know the full menu yet, but we’re hoping for fried chicken, tornado potatoes (chips on a stick), spicy stir-fried rice cakes, Korean sausage, and dumplings. Duh.
If that’s not enough to spark your interest, organisers will be hosting a raffle, where a brand new iPad, Cuckoo Rice Cooker and a return flight to South Korea are up for grabs.
Pop on your funky hat, crop top and biggest baggy cargo pants for a day of K-Pop entertainment!
