Brodburger is opening in Dickson and giving out free burgers this Friday!

Speculation has been growing for months now, with the little red caravan spotted at an empty site on Northbourne Avenue.

Is the van merely sitting there for storage? Is this a new venture for Brod? For the love of all that is good please, TELL US!

Today our prayers have finally been answered with Brodburger announcing it will open on the site as part of Dickson’s new outdoor food court, Coop at Soho.

“This year we were lucky enough to celebrate our 10th birthday and for the last 10 years, we’ve had loyal customers travel from all over Canberra to our Inner South locations to get a taste of our burgers,” says Brodburger’s owner Sascha Brodbeck.

“So, it’s about time we took them a little closer to home for our north side fans and we could think of no better place than Coop at Soho.”

The Brodburger van will sit alongside our favourite Peruvian street food vendor, Mr Papa, and new kids on the block MOMOS, who’ll be serving up delicious dumplings.

There will also be special guest appearances over the from some of Canberra’s favourite street food vendors over the course of the next few months.

To celebrate their arrival at Coop at Soho, the vendors will be giving away free grub to the first 100 customers EACH this Friday night!

Let’s clarify, that’s:

  • 100 dumpling servings from MOMOS
  • 50 Peruvian Fried Chicken and 50 mini Chancitos from Mr Papa
  • 100 Brod and Brod Veg burgers for Brodburger

Heck yes.

Located behind the Mulberry display gallery—on the corner of Northbourne Avenue and Morphett Street—Coop at Soho is headed up by the Brodburger team, in association with local developers Art Group.

It’s a small taste of what is to come in Art Group’s innovative Soho precinct that is set to open as the development takes shapes.

The street food trucks will operate alongside a series of family and community-based events, designed to encourage Canberra’s from all over to view Art Group’s lifestyle galleries and enhance the development precinct with vibrant family and community-based events. It will be a destination for foodies, families and home buyers alike.

“The North Side has always been synonymous with community, neighbourhood and art, so we want to ensure that we can show that to potential residents, along with activating the space for locals, the team on-site and shows the rest of Canberra how fantastic this area is to live in,” says Gabe Szivek, Development Manager at Art Group.

“The activation will give residents of the Inner North a small taste of what is to come in our Soho Gardens site. The entire precinct has been inspired by similar locations around the world. It is important for us to strike a balance between Canberra heritage and culture. Mulberry is the on sale now and is our latest development, with our sales team onsite at the Coop.”
