Barton really is a wonderful part of Canberra.
It’s hard to list all the things that are great about it. Ritual’s coffee, Brew & Brew’s muffins, Maple and Clove’s smoothies and Little Bird’s lunches…the HerCanberra office…
Okay, so we might be a little biased, but so help us if we aren’t going to get excited about things happening right on our doorstep!
As you well know, we need no excuse to celebrate Canberra food, but autumn is an especially fond time for foodies because the meals get richer, the restaurants get snugglier and the wine gets…bigger glasses. Here’s what you can look forward to in Barton this autumn.
A CAPITAL TAKEOVER

Ostani Lounge, Bar & Restaurant is hosting local brewer Capital Brewing Co. on 31 March as the boys take over the taps in the Garden Bar. 100% independently employee-owned, Capital Brewing Co. was formed by a close group of mates who were looking for a great brew while being environmentally conscious.
The local brewers will take over the Garden Bar from 5pm with free tastings of Trail Pale Ale, Evil Red Eye IPA and Coast Ale. All beers will be available for purchase, while guests can chat to the brewers.
WINE NOT
Furthering Hotel Realm’s sponsorship of the Canberra District Wine Week, Ostani is celebrating the 2017 vintage with free tastings in the Garden Bar every night in the first week of April.
Locals and guests alike are invited to attend the free wine tastings, hosted by two to three local vineyards each evening. Guests will have the opportunity to try the local produce while chatting to the winemakers about their vineyards and products.

(TRUFFLE) PIG OUT
With truffle season just around the corner, Buvette Bistro will be supporting Canberra’s only local truffle producer, The Truffle Farm, with a curated dinner menu designed by Doma Hotels’ Executive Chef, Fabien Wagnon.

In addition, Doma Hotels is choc full of activities this Easter, creating a truly decadent line-up this Easter for locals and visitors alike.
For those hunting for that well-deserved Easter break, Doma Hotels’ giant program of activities and entertainment includes a daily Easter colouring competition in the five star Hotel Realm lobby, a petting zoo on the lawns of the historic Brassey Hotel, the annual Realm Precinct Easter Egg Hunt, egg decorating, bunny mask art and Easter basket decorating.
Plus, there will be a surprise visit from a very special (and furry) visitor! All the activities are free and open to Canberra locals and Doma Hotels guests.
THE ANSWER TO THE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION
Canberrans go a bit bananas before Easter long weekend, ransacking Coles as if the apocalypse was about to arrive. Luckily, we have the answer to the million dollar question: where is open on Easter long weekend?
Hotel Realm’s Buvette Bistro will be open for buffet breakfast each day and dinner on Easter Saturday. Buvette Bistro’s renowned Saturday brunch affair, Petit Feast, will be available, as well Burbury Hotel’s High Tea on the Terrace, overlooking the city.
For those looking for a casual restaurant, Ostani will be open every day during the Easter break from 11am.
