Best Dressed Store (Griffith)
Get ready to find hidden treasures of high-quality, pre-loved clothes and accessories here! With prices starting as low as $5, you can get some great bargains. All the clothes you can browse have been donated by the Canberra community, helping keep this a very local business.
The store sometimes holds a monthly discount, so check their website to find out what it is!

Another Chance Op Shop (Scullin)
This is the perfect place to find that item you’ve been meaning to replace… It’s stocked with clean, well-presented clothes, linen, books, toys, kitchenware and bric-a-brac.
A bonus is their sales – each month they change the colour of the clothing pricing tags, and all ‘last month’ stock becomes 50 per cent off! There’s also regular 50 per cent off entire store sales, so follow their Facebook page for updates.

Barney’s Boutique (Charnwood)
Barney’s Boutique is an elusive op shop, only open two full days and a half day on Saturday, so make sure you plan your trip! Located at the church centre in Charnwood, you’ll be welcomed by a wide variety of high-quality second-hand clothing, books, and household items at very reasonable prices.
Donations are also welcome to help keep their stock full – so bring them along when you visit.

Goodies Junction (Mitchell and Mugga Lane)
These two stores used to be known as the Green Shed but are now under new ownership. As the new name suggests, there are plenty of goodies to rummage through and leave with a new find. Think homeware, clothes, entertainment, outdoor gear, electronics and more.
The junction also has affordable pricing and includes full-price items from 50 cents and discounted items available from 25 cents. Discounted bulk purchase pricing is also an option for most items!

Goodbyes (Braddon)
As with every store in Braddon, this is a trendy place that has a loyal followers. With a carefully curated selection of Australian and New Zealand labels, international designers, and unique vintage and well-made basics, you’ll be sure to find a new favourite piece and join the Goodbyes family.
This is a store with a laid-back atmosphere that you can take some time in and feel confident leaving with something special that makes you feel like you!

The Green Shed Underground (City)
This is one of my favourite places to pick up a new favourite piece. Some of my wardrobe staples have been from here for a very affordable price. Filled with nearly every type of clothing item, you’ll have plenty of choice.
In a delightful twist, the clothes are often categorised by colour which makes it very easy if there’s something you’re looking for, or if there’s a certain colour you know suits you well. But it’s not just clothes! Take a look through some of their accessories, homewares, CDs, records, and their wall of books.

Dirty Jane (Fyshwick)
I’m a massive fan of the store in Bowral and wandering through the aisles of vintage eclectic finds is always therapeutic. Now there’s a Canberra edition, and I can get my fix locally!
This is a vintage lover’s paradise with over 90 unique stallholders, each offering a distinctive collection of antiques, homewares, furniture, clothes, books, and more. Spend a few hours here and let the treasures transport you back in time. After browsing, stop by Dirty Jane’s onsite café and enjoy a meal while surrounded by antiques and vintage wares.

Down Memory Lane (Fyshwick)
Follow the namesake and let some of these pieces take you on a trip down memory lane. Categorised into vintage, retro, and antique, there’s a varied assortment of bits and bobs to browse. The antique collection consists of selected pieces from 100 years ago or more and is primarily furniture, tableware, silverware, and glassware. The vintage pieces date from between the 1920s and the 1970s, while the retro pieces are items from the 60s, 70s, and 80s onwards!
Expect to see clothes, furniture, homewares, music, and more from these eras. Each item has its own story to tell and is a perfect representation of a moment in history.

Designer Op Shop Emporium (Fyshwick)
A trip to the Emporium will leave you feeling refreshed and classy! Browse a range of small businesses specialising in unique collectibles including pre-loved designer fashion, vintage and retro collections, and modern homewares.
This family-run, local business has something for everyone and is perfect for getting some much-needed ‘you’ time! After picking up some vintage finds, head to their boutique café to sample some of their delicious treats.

Red Cross (City, Woden)
The Red Cross stores are mainly dedicated to clothing with a wide range of styles – casual, activewear and formal just some of many. There are some options for homewares, but it’s not as wide of a selection as other op shops.
The city’s Red Cross is home to a dedicated corner filled with cute cards – perfect for sending to your friends and family.

Vinnies (All over town)
With stores spread across Canberra, Vinnies is a popular place to go thrifting. This is one of my favourite op-shops in Canberra, as I always find something unique and with a decent price tag.
Most Vinnies stores also have a section of the store dedicated to homeware products – think dinner sets, books, toys, and more.

The Salvation Army stores (All over town)
Lovingly known as ‘Salvos’, this is another popular location for those hoping to score a new outfit for an affordable price! This op shop specialises in the sale of pre-loved items donated by the community and ranges from furniture, clothing, shoes, homewares, and books.
