As another school term draws to a close, it’s a good time to get organised for holiday play dates.
If you’re like us and operate better with caffeine in your system, we’ve rounded up a handy list of cafés with playgrounds close by.
To make the cut, the playgrounds had to be a decent size and within around a 10-minute walk.
Inner south
Kitchen Garden at Rodney’s, Pialligo
The owners of this beloved café (pictured above) were on to a good thing when they made the most of their spacious outdoor area with a gorgeous playground. Complete with cubby, sandpit, slide and even a helicopter, it’s bound to keep little ones happy while you sip on a coffee or two. The play space is also perfectly visible from the leafy outdoor tables, making it an ideal spot to gather with friends, mothers’ groups or family.

Two Before Ten, Denman Prospect
This relatively new addition to the Denman shops is just over a 10-minute walk or eight-minute ride to one of Canberra’s best adventure destinations, Ridgeline Park playground.
Although it technically breaks the 10-minute rule, this park is so good it just had to be counted! It’s worth noting this is an uphill walk, so while it’s a good workout you might want to bring your best walking shoes (hopefully the caffeine hit will help spike energy levels!)
